With three chapels, landscaped grounds and a 12th-century Romanesque and Gothic building backdrop, the Ancient Spanish Monastery makes the perfect wedding venue.
The Ancient Spanish Monastery showcases three beautiful chapels and over 20 acres of rare palms, Spanish oaks, sprawling gardens and other diverse plant life that give the location its sacred intimacy. Guests who attend a wedding at the 12th-century Romanesque property will enjoy a trip through history with an up-close experience of artifacts and collections.
What I love about the Spanish Monastery is the feeling you get as soon as you step onto the property—you feel transported to another place and time; you may as well be strolling through an ancient Iberian village. It’s a one-of-a-kind venue, especially in contrast with vibrant and hip South Florida. Every time I visit, it feels like time slows down, and that’s what I think makes it so special. You’re not only in a gorgeous setting so different from its surroundings, but you also can’t help but have a special feeling of being in a dreamy escape, if only for a few hours.
