Joy Wallace is a living catering legend. After having two children and graduating from FIU School of Hospitality, she became a bookkeeper at the Miami Club. Eager to share her own style with the industry, she created A Joy Wallace Catering. Joy is passionate about meeting new friends and confident in her team’s ability to produce something new each day.
Elgin is responsible for the culinary artistry behind Joy Wallace events. From menu development to high-volume production, she’s at the helm of the foodservice machine. Her Peruvian heritage speaks loudly through her food. At the same time, Elgin, an award-winning chef, is gifted with the cultural fusion of diverse cuisines, offering guests a true taste of Miami’s ethnic kaleidoscope. She has an AA in Culinary Arts at Johnson and Wales
Bachelor’s in hospitality management at Florida International University.
As director of design, Jessica oversees Joy Wallace’s design division, focusing on team expansion and production skill growth. She always strives to stay ahead of the design curve, researching new products and trends to incorporate into events. Jessica was named Event Solutions Magazine’s Female Rising Star and winner of the AFR Event Furnishings Annual Live Design Challenge in Las Vegas.
As director of sales, Sara ensures a menu and event design experience that’s flawless for clients and steers our incredible sales team as they nurture long-term partnerships. Sara has a degree in business administration and specialization in travel and tourism from University of Florida. She won Event Solutions Magazine’s 2015 Rising Star Spotlight Award. Sara absolutely loves to travel.
Ana joined the JW sales team in 2016 after working in sales in the aviation industry for several years. She graduated from Florida International University in 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in management. As client experience manager, Ana has a knack for coordinating events from concept to production.
Daniel brings creative flair, attention to detail, positive energy and fresh, innovative ideas to every event. He has a background in event and television production, working events for The Latin Grammy, Univision and other high-profile clients. From small and intimate gatherings to grand galas and fundraisers, he provides enthusiasm and unique ideas to every event.
Linda began her chef career in the Aspen mountains and then Hudson Valley, New York, focusing on both corporate and college dining. The 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta gave Linda a taste of large event production, and she was hooked. In 1997, Linda joined Joy Wallace. She takes pride in purchasing and preparing the fine fare for every event. Linda is a Culinary Institute of America graduate.
TC was born in South Africa and grew up in Johannesburg. He graduated with a degree in culinary management from International Hotel School. He went on to work for five-star hotels, including the Park Hyatt and Michelangelo Hotel in South Africa. He trained on Japanese cuisine at OSHA in Johannesburg. Once in the US he continued his 5 star career in hotels such as Mar a Lago. He’s cooked for celebrities from Oprah to Dwayne Wade. TC now brings a fun twist to our Culinary Creations.
Chris oversees all types of events from large to small, cocktail parties to dinner parties, weddings to corporate. He also assists the operations team with all warehouse and event needs from start to finish.
Paula holds a bachelor’s of science degree in culinary arts from Johnson & Wales University and an associate’s degree in food and beverage management from The University of Technology. She has over 20 years of hospitality experience, working at prestigious hotels like Sandals Royal Caribbean Jamaica and Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami Beach. She’s passionate about creating delicious meals and memorable events for her guests.
Reinaldo wears many hats. His primary focus is on the company’s financial aspects and managing daily responsibilities of his accounting department. He works closely with the entire executive team, providing input and guidance on overall business strategies and operations. Reinaldo holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Florida International University. He joined JW in 2012 after working in public accounting.
As chief operating officer, Bert oversees all event proposals and internal building and vehicle operations. He brings a level of attention and detail to the Joy Wallace team that is much appreciated. In another life, he was a police officer. Then he worked for Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations in various sales roles.
Since joining Joy Wallace in 2000, Kevin has had many roles, including server, floor captain, website designer, database developer and system administrator. Now, as director of IT, Kevin focuses his talents on applying technology to improve business processes across all departments. As a member of the executive board, Kevin supports all the company’s data- and software-based decisions.
Amber is the point of contact for new and existing clients. She handles calls, collects and distributes lead information and greets visitors. She also helps team members polish up their final projects.
As creative manager, Ashley Deoleo adds sparkle to every project she touches. She enjoys sharing her passion for event design and social media while elevating the company’s creative process. A New Jersey native of Cuban and Dominican descent, Ashley is fluent in English, Spanish and conversational Portuguese.
A catering natural, Kellie built her first buffet display when she was 15 years old. This makes her an excellent fit for the Vizcaya Museum and Garden Shop. With her sunny demeanor, this Auburn alum has poured her heart into the shop’s unique selections from around the globe. Kellie is passionate about providing guests with enduring memories through Vizcaya treasures.
As marketing coordinator, Kelsey creates innovative marketing tools that showcase Joy Wallace in the best light. A woman of many creative talents, she has her hand in everything from social media management and content writing to photography and graphic design. Kelsey graduated from Mercyhurst University with a degree in communications and a concentration in visual communications.
Laurie is responsible for the logistics and operations of off-premise catering and the hiring and scheduling of event staff. She enjoys working with the team and providing guests with exceptional service and memorable events. She’s dedicated her career to hospitality. She’s been with the JW team for 15 years, and prior to that, Malnati Organization in Chicago for 20 years.
